History

GDL Powder Coating (GDL) started their business in 1999 in Windham, ME, and moved to Standish, ME in 2008. In 2023 they were purchased by Howell Laboratories, Inc. (HLI). At the end of 2023, they moved again to the Howell Laboratories building, In Bridgton, ME. GDL was a strategic purchase for HLI because they relied on GDL to powder coat all their Navy equipment. The expertise in MIL Spec and consistency with the end product made GDL a suitable division to grow the business.

Howell Laboratories, Inc. (HLI), was incorporated in 1964. HLI has a long history of designing and manufacturing custom systems suitable for the harsh marine environment, supporting the US Navy and US Coast Guard. This ability to adapt current products or apply new technologies to solve customer problems has driven our continued success for nearly five decades.
